FSU Women's Team

There was no team or even recognition of competitive women's gymnastics before 1960

Dr. Katie Montgomery, head of Women's Athletics at FSU during this period considered competition unladylike and damaging to the female psyche. However, a number of young ladies disagreed, led and coached by Connie Holder they did compete, unofficially on their own and at their own expense with an outstanding record of achievement.
